Marisa Onrust Examines the Impact of ICU Admission on Patients’ and Family Members’ Health

Marisa Onrust, MSc., is an ICU nurse and research coordinator at the University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands.  Her research focuses on the impact of ICU admission on patients’ and family members’ health and well-being in the short term and long term and how healthcare professionals (nurses) can support these families throughout the healthcare experience with transitions from the ICU to the hospital ward and from the hospital to home.

Marisa is working with  Dr. Marie Louise Luttik in the Research Program Family Care & Family Nursing with the primary mission to contribute to the development of a more systemic approach to care in a variety of settings and in collaboration with various disciplines based on applied scientific research.
