Dr. Regina Szylit Bousso Advances Care of Families Experiencing Loss and Bereavement

Regina Bousso.photoDr. Regina Szylit Bousso is an associate professor at the School of Nursing, University of São Paulo, Brazil. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Interdisciplinary Nucleus for Research in Loss and Bereavement (NIPPEL).  She has been selected to represent Brazilian nurses on the International Work Group in Death, Dying and Bereavement (IWG), a prestigious and very selective honour. Dr. Bousso supervises Master’s and Doctoral students with interests in her research areas of preventing complicated grief. She has developed an integrated program and process of education, research, and clinical practice aimed to improve nursing care to families experiencing situations of death at the Children’s Oncology Hospital, Brazil. An accomplished and published academic,  Dr. Bousso is seen as a ground breaking nurse educator, bringing a focus on family nursing to Brazilian nurses.
