While many organizations and individuals are concerned with specific issues related to the family (e.g. managing acute and chronic illness, end of life, specific conditions, health disparities, population health), IFNA integrates these concerns holistically across the family’s life cycle. IFNA members are making a difference worldwide through their research, education, and practice.

The mission of the International Family Nursing Association (IFNA) is to transform family health by:
- serving as a unifying force and voice for family nursing globally;
- sharing knowledge, practices, and skills to enhance and nurture family nursing practice; and,
- providing family nursing leadership through scholarship, socialization, education and collegial exchange on all aspects of family nursing.
