Call for Pre-conference Workshops & Expert Lectures

International Family Nursing Association (IFNA) members are advancing family nursing through their innovations in research, education, practice, and policy. Pre-conference Workshops and Expert Lectures provide an opportunity for all of us to benefit from recent advances in the field. In addition, you may want to consider submitting an abstract to present an aspect of this work for consideration through the abstract submission process, should this Pre-conference/Expert Lecture application not be accepted for presentation.
The Conference Planning Committee invites applications for offering a Pre-conference Workshop or Expert Lecture at the 15th International Family Nursing Conference (in Virtual Format). The application should be submitted in English. Priority will be given to those who address the conference theme.
- Pre-conference Workshop: Pre-conference workshops provide attendees with an opportunity to undertake in-depth examination of a family nursing research, practice, education, or policy topic. Workshops are an opportunity for presenters to share didactic information and implement interactive strategies and discussions to engage participants. All workshops are half-day sessions. Workshops will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 and Thursday, June 24, 2021. We anticipate having three each day for 3 hours. Having an accepted application, would be a wonderful addition to your professional development and Curriculum Vitae. Accepted Pre-conference Workshops will receive up to two discounted IFNC15 Conference Registrations per group of presenters.
- Expert Lecture: Expert lectures provide didactic content on a focused topic related to family nursing research, education, or practice (e.g., synthesis of family research, family content in education courses or programs, family research methodology, family health or family nursing policy development, developing a family consultation service, etc.). We expect to have six expert lectures (each 1 hour) presented during two concurrent sessions the week of Monday, June 28 – Friday, July 2, 2021. Having an accepted application, would be a wonderful addition to your professional development and Curriculum Vitae. IFNA is unable to provide any compensation for accepted Expert Lecture applications.

- Proposed Level of Workshop/Lecture
- Novice Level is aimed toward those who may be new graduates or are new to the topic of presentation. Workshop learning activities provide new strategies and tools for use by participants.
- Intermediate Level is aimed at those who have some familiarity with the topic, but little firsthand experience. Workshop presenters coach participants in novel implementation strategies.
- Experienced Level is aimed at the highly experienced, who are looking for a stimulating learning experience that challenges them and addresses issues they are likely to be confronting in their research, teaching, or practice. Workshops will give opportunities to be highly interactive.
- Workshop/Lecture Objectives. At the end of the workshop/lecture, attendees will be able to: (list objectives)
