Giulia Gasperini Focuses on Family Nursing Implementation in Italy

Giulia Gasperini, RN, MSN, is a doctoral student at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and a Research Fellow at the Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on the models and theories of family nursing and the implementation of family nursing in Italy. She is interested in supporting the positive development of family nursing in her country to improve people’s health and well-being through primary health care.

Giulia is a 2021 recipient of a conference grant from the International Family Nursing Foundation to support her participation at the virtual 15th International Family Nursing Conference (IFNC15).

Nkeiru Adoga Focuses on Advanced Care Planning Awareness for Families

Nkeiru Adoga, RN, MPH, PCCN, is a doctoral nursing student at Minnesota State University, Mankato, USA. Her research is focused on advanced care planning awareness to help families plan for unexpected health care events. The goal is to promote patient autonomy, improve quality of life at the end of life, and improve patient and family experience.

Nkeiru is very passionate about health equity. In addition to her research, she is currently working with the Association of Nigerian Nurses in Minnesota to promote equity in COVID-19 safety education by providing COVID vaccine facts to immigrant and minority communities in the metro area to reduce vaccine hesitance and helping those with limited access to navigate where to get the vaccine.

Isabella Navarro Silva Conducts Research with Families Experiencing Death and Grief in Brazil

Isabella Navarro Silva is a nurse and a doctoral student at the School of Nursing, University of São Paulo, Brazil. She is conducting research with families experiencing death and grief.  She is currently examining communication with children and their families about death and grief using play as a tool to create space for dialogue.

Isabella is a 2021 recipient of a conference grant from the International Family Nursing Foundation to support her participation at the virtual 15th International Family Nursing Conference (IFNC15).

Qinyi Zhong Advances Knowledge About Chronic Disease Management in China

Qinyi Zhong is a second-year graduate nursing student at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University, China. She is particularly passionate about chronic disease management, especially diabetes care.

Qinyi is a 2021 recipient of a conference grant from the International Family Nursing Foundation to support her participation at the virtual 15th International Family Nursing Conference (IFNC15). She will be sharing her findings about the efficacy of an intensive lifestyle program for chronic disease management.

Amelia Potter-Dickey Focuses on Understanding the Impact of Children’s Genotype on Attachment Pattern Development

Amelia Potter-Dickey, RN, BN, is a doctoral student in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With her background in obstetrics, family health, and pediatric nursing, Amelia’s doctoral research is focused on understanding the impact that children’s genotype contributes to attachment pattern development. She is interested in understanding what predicts and influences attachment patterns to advance our ability to target programs and nursing interventions to specific populations based on children’s genotype and caregiving environments. Her research will provide a foundation for establishing the most effective nursing interventions that support developing a secure attachment pattern that is ultimately associated with lifespan health.
