Dr. Tom Laws Studies Fathers’ Skills and Competencies in Caring for a Child with a Health Problem

Dr. Tom LawsTom Laws, BEco, GDip Ed, GDip PH, PhD (Med), is a researcher in men’s health and fatherhood at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Keele University, Stoke-on-Trent, England. He gathers evidence of fathers’ participation in the giving of evidence based health care for their children.  Knowledge of contemporary fatherhood and their pediatric health practices serves to enhance men’s inclusion into health care systems, and shared parenting supports mothers return to work and career pathways. His doctoral research has unique data sets that identify men’s range of skills and competencies in caring for a child with a health problem.
