On behalf of the International Family Nursing Association I would like to express sincere condolences to the countless families and individuals affected by the hate crime committed in Orlando. We have been mute witnesses to this unfathomable act of violence and cannot remain silent. As a global community of nurses committed to transforming health for families worldwide, we advocate respect and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in daily living and particularly in every healthcare encounter. We also call for similar respect and equality regardless of race and ethnicity.
