Dr. Naohiro Hohashi is a Professor of Health Care Nursing and Department Director, Kobe University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Japan. He served on the IFNA Board of Directors from 2010-2014. He has been selected as a “Transcultural Nursing Scholar” and will be honoured at the 40th annual meeting of the Transcultural Nursing Society in October 2014. Dr. Hohashi developed the Concentric Sphere Family Environment Model and has conducted comparative research on how the family is affected by culture and values in Japan, Hong Kong and North America. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors of the Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing (JARFN), the Editorial Board of the Journal of Transcultural Nursing and Editor of the Japan Journal of Nursing Science.
