Yoshiyasu Ito Focuses on Families Experiencing Sudden and Traumatic Bereavement in Japan

Yoshiyasu Ito, MA, RN, PHN, is an assistant professor at the College of Nursing Art and Science, University of Hyogo, Japan. His research focuses on bereavement care in the emergency department, where he is working to develop a support program for families experiencing sudden and traumatic bereavement. He has been focusing on the long-term outcomes of families in critical care, including family-centered end-of-life care to prevent Post-Intensive Care Syndrome in families as well as research that contributes to the long-term health of families.
