Dr. Florinda Galinha de Sá Focuses on Families Experiencing Critical Illness in Portugal

Florinda Galinha de Sá, PhD, MSc, RN, is an Adjunct Professor at Lisbon Nursing School in Portugal. She coordinates the family nursing program for undergraduate students and has incorporated simulation in her scholarly work in family nursing education to improve skill development in family nursing therapeutic conversations. Her professional experience in emergency nursing and her family mediation skills inform her work in critical care and prehospital master and doctoral student’s projects that focus on family witness resuscitation and family conferences. She is also collaborating in an international study that focuses on migrant family functioning and a national study focusing on family nursing undergraduate education.

Florinda is a member of the IFNA Education Committee (simulation, technology, and informatics subcommittee).
