Dr. Willyane de Andrade Alvarenga Focuses on the Psych-Social-Spiritual Health of Vulnerable Families in Brazil

Willyane de Andrade Alvarenga, RN, MN, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Centro Universitário Santo Agostinho, Brazil.  She is also a researcher at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, Brazil – Research Group in Nursing Care Provided to Children and Adolescents (GPECCA). She recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship about the family experience of perinatal death in the Centre for Studies and Research on Family Intervention (CERIF) at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Quebec, Canada. Her current program of research focuses on the psycho-socio-spiritual health of vulnerable families, including families living with HIV, childhood chronic health conditions, and grief. Her objective is to improve the health and well-being of families and the care of vulnerable families based on explanatory and intervention models.
