Dr. Stacey Van Gelderen Leads Family Nursing Education Using Simulation

Stacey Van Gelderen DNP, MS, PHN, RN, is an Associate Professor, School of Nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato, USA. Her clinical expertise includes obstetrics and pediatrics.  Dr. Van Gelderen’s research and educational practice focuses on supporting family care skill development through utilization of the Van Gelderen Family Care Rubric (Van Gelderen, Krumwiede, & Christian, 2016). Dr. Van Gelderen teaches nursing students family history and data collection within the classroom and simulation settings while utilizing an MSU developed family-focused electronic health record (SAFE-HR) that has an interactive, genogram, ecomap, and family care constructs for ease of charting and collecting family health and support: http://safehrapp.b507.net/ Dr. Van Gelderen is currently a member of the IFNA Education Committee.
