Dr. Knafl is a Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill School of Nursing. She is a nationally recognized expert in family and mixed-methods research whose work has focused on family response to childhood chronic conditions. She has considerable experience in mixed-method designs and the integration of quantitative and qualitative data during the course of data analysis.
Description
The overall intent of the webinar is to provide practical guidance on the integration of qualitative and quantitative data in mixed method research. Following an overview of mixed method designs appropriate for family research, the presentation will focus on visual display and data transformation strategies used for data integration, incorporating examples from published family research as well as the presenter’s past and ongoing research.

1. Differentiate mixed method from multi-method research.
2. Select an appropriate mixed method design for addressing their research question(s).
3. Apply analysis strategies for integration of qualitative and quantitative data.
