Dr. Geldine Chironda, PhD, MSc, BScNs (Hons), is a post-doctoral research scientist at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Africa, and an educator from Zimbabwe. Her research focuses on interventions to improve the care of patients with kidney diseases and promote family health. She is also interested in understanding the impact of climate change on the health of families within communities. She participates in the research supervision of Master’s and PhD students. She is one of the founding members of the IFNA African Chapter, which promotes family-focused nursing practice, education, and research in Africa. She has worked extensively in the clinical area (Zimbabwe) as well as in the education of health professionals for New York University (USA), the University of Rwanda (Rwanda) (jointly HRH program), and University of KwaZulu Natal (South Africa).
