Elisabeth Coyne, PhD, RN, Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy, is a senior lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Griffith University, Australia where she teaches in the bachelor and masters programs and supervisors postgraduate students. Elisabeth’s research incorporates patient and family experience of chronic disease and blended learning teaching methods within nursing. Elisabeth’s research has led to innovative methods for developing nurse and consumer partnership using simulation videos and she is working to develop family nursing interventions to improve the outcomes of the family as a unit of care. Elisabeth’s teaching expertise in acute care nursing has a focus on patient and family assessment incorporating the Australian Safety and Quality Framework for Health Care, which focuses on consumer partnership for optimum patient outcomes.
Elisabeth holds an Adjunct Associate Professor position in the University of Southern Denmark where she is building a strong collaboration for research and teaching. Elisabeth is leading the development of the Australian New Zealand IFNA Chapter and now is the chair of this group who are aiming to promote family nursing research in Australia and New Zealand.
