Megan Aston, PhD, RN, is a professor and Associate Director of Research and International Affairs at Dalhousie University School of Nursing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Her family-focused research uses feminist poststructuralism to examine relationships and relations of power between clients, nurses, and other health care providers. Megan’s present research focuses on mothers’ social networks, hospital experiences of families and their children with intellectual disabilities, postpartum care of mothers in Tanzania, and queer women’s birthing experiences in rural Nova Scotia. Previously, she examined family-centred bereavement care.
