The IFNA Education Committee is very pleased to announce the development of a new groundbreaking Graduate Family Nursing Education position statement which is now ready for IFNA member review and comment. This new IFNA Position Statement provides a vision for graduate family nursing education and was developed with the acknowledgement of the different institutional, governmental, and cultural influences on nursing education across the world. The Graduate Family Nursing Education Position Statement builds on the IFNA Position Statement on Pre-Licensure Family Nursing Education released in 2015. It was also developed complimentary to the recently reviewed and approved IFNA Position Statement on Advanced Practice Competencies for Family Nursing (APC-FN).
Process for Review:
January, 2017: The Graduate Family Nursing Education Position Statement approved by IFNA Education Committee.
April, 2017: Graduate Family Nursing Education Position Statement approved by IFNA Board of Directors for IFNA member review.
Deadline for feedback from IFNA members: June 30, 2017.
We specifically want to know if the document is relevant to your country’s graduate education system and if not, what changes do your recommend. Feedback from across our international community of IFNA members is urgently needed to ensure this document about graduate family nursing education is culturally appropriate. Please provide your feedback in written form on the position statement document itself using the Track Changes function in Microsoft Word to submit your edits and comments. Send your edits and comments to Dr. Donna Miles Curry, by June 30th.
The revised document will be submitted to the IFNA Board of Directors for final approval, prior to dissemination of the final document. Thank you for your specific edits and comments.
