The IFNA Communications Committee (Janice M. Bell, co-chair; Wilma Schroeder, co-chair, Wendy Looman, IFNA BOD liaison, Kris Isaacson, IFNA webdesigner) presented a group of 4 papers on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the 12th International Family Nursing Conference on the topic of “Leveraging Social Media in #FamilyNursing*”. Social media channels provide fast horizontal communication and networking. The intent of this podium session is to describe the uses, benefits, and limitations of leveraging social media channels to promote and advance #familynursing practice, education, and research. IFNA members are encouraged to use social media in a greater way to assist in the diffusion of knowledge about #familynursing. A selected Bibliography on the topic of Social Media and #FamilyNursing, developed by the IFNA Communications Committee, is now available: IFNA.Bibliography.Social Media and #FamilyNursing.
