The International Family Nursing Association (IFNA) Position Statement on Advanced Practice Competencies for Family Nursing outlines the advanced practice competencies for family nurses (FN-AP) to guide the care of families in all settings and provide a focus for nursing education, theory, and research related to family nursing in advanced practice (FN-AP). 

Developed by the IFNA Family Nursing Practice Committee, this IFNA Position Statement on Generalist Competencies (GC) was approved by the IFNA Board of Directors on May 1, 2017 and is available in several English language formats:
